Our team, humbly extends hearty congratulations to our distinguished and performing Governor of Edo State, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, on this feat, as he is set to receive the Democracy Heroes Award Africa, for the category of Best Performing Governor of the Year.
This comes as no surprise but an attestation to the good works, the governor has done in Edo State, barely two years in office, which has firmly impacted key sectors in the state. It would be recalled that Sen. Monday Okpebholo's administration set out the S.H.I.N.E agenda, an acronym representing vital areas the governor is focused on.
The five point agenda on Security, Health, Infrastructure, Natural Resources/Agriculture and Education, are areas which has received very serious attention under this administration, that are yielding tangible results, the Edo people can attest to today.
Sen. Monday Okpebholo's commitment to ensure that practical governance becomes a reality in Edo has remained his driving force to the successes recorded by the administration, as he doesn't just talk, but follows up with the requisite actions to actualise his purpose.
Today, Edo people are counting their gains in the aspect of Infrastructure, where new access roads are created to provide ease of movement for rural and urban dwellers, while urban areas are getting more uplifting structures, like the flyover at Ramat Park and the ongoing one at Sapele Road.
Education, has also received infrastructral and man power boost, following the employment of teachers and the remodelling and renovation of over 65 schools barely two years.
Sen. Monday Okpebholo, has also embarked on the construction of markets in Jattu, Oba Market and the burnt police wife shops in Ekpoma, Edo State, and provision of grants for SME's.
Security has also witnessed tangible boost through legal reforms and more equipping of Security operatives to combat crime through technology and man power increment, through creation of Special Task force and Edo State Security Corps officers who are on the front lines in the restoration of peace and sanity in the State.
Against this backdrop, of a long list of achievements most of which couldn't be contained in this article, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, has been excellent in the transformation and reformation of governance in Edo State and no other contender could have been more deserving of this award than the Edo State Governor whose style of leadership has been practical and inspirational.
